Solartel

Wireless Eye Solartel was designed and built by Scisys UK Ltd - one of the leading European developers of innovative communications software solutions

The system is designed to enable surveillance cameras to be sited virtually anywhere. The pictures are transmitted securely through a SIM card just like a mobile phone and stored on a remote server. The pictures can be viewed on a PC, Blackberry or mobile phone in real time. All images are dated and timed so historical pictures can be recalled and viewed by date and time

Wireless Eye Solartel is used by the UK Highways Agency to monitor traffic in remote locations where there is no power or CCTV cabling.

Solartel used by the BBC at the Royal Norfolk Show

Wireless Eye Solartel includes several software based features. The remote cameras can be GPS located on Microsoft Map. The cameras can be remotely interrogated to identify battery power status, network signal strength and remote network switching. The system can be integrated into an existing control room without further screens.

Solartel can also interface with a web site and enable real time images of tourist sites or wildlife to be viewed by thousands of people all over the world. The BBC used the Solartel technology for 'Autumn Watch' and 'BBC Spring Watch' (4 million viewers) to enable real time live pictures to be viewed on the BBC website. It was also deployed on a Norfolk Broads cruiser and the top of Blackpool tower where 30,000 people logged on to see the view every day.
